The Summer Master of Music in Music Education degree program is designed for the
professional music educator. Through a series of foundational courses and curriculum-based workshops, the program interweaves research and practice, leading students to reflect on and apply knowledge and experiences from coursework to their teaching. The program is offered during a five-week intensive summer session from late June through the end of July. The course-work, which can be completed in three summers, includes: 12 credits in music
education; 6 credits in theory, musicology, composition or jazz studies; 10-12 credits of week-long workshops, and 2-3 credits for a final presentation or thesis.
