Javanese Gamelan

The Javanese gamelan at the University of Michigan meets on Thursdays 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (beginners) and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (advanced).

Arab Music

Shahnaz, the Arab music ensemble at the University of Michigan, is directed by Michael Ibrahim. Please see here for a clip from one of their concerts this past year. The Korean music ensemble at the University of Michigan is called Sinaboro.

Philippine Kulintang

The Philippine kulintang ensemble on campus, Noraysa, meets weekly and is open to all students. For more information, contact Antonette Aidova.

The Dance Department offers excellent courses in Afro-Caribbean dance, world dance forms, and Congolese dancing and drumming.
