The mission of the Department of Strings is to assist, guide, and encourage students in achieving the highest artistic and intellectual standard of which they are capable. Through individual instruction with a major artist-teacher, ensemble coaching, and musicianship classes, the faculty strives to promote understanding while simultaneously encouraging original, creative thought.
By offering a variety of educational options, the faculty seeks to prepare students for career possibilities in traditional and emerging fields.
