Kate Harkness joined the U of M School of Music, Theatre & Dance Admissions Office in 2008.  As Auditions Coordinator, Kate is responsible for scheduling all music and musical theatre auditions, overseeing audition days, and providing support for prospective students and their families. 

An alum of the School, Kate earned her BMA in music theory, where she studied piano with Professor Louis Nagel.  Kate then pursued graduate studies in elementary education at the University of Detroit Mercy.  She enjoyed a successful teaching career in elementary education for 10 years before returning to U of M.
