As Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management and Student Services, Laura Strozeski Hoffman holds primary responsibilities in the areas of recruiting, admissions, and enrollment management for the departments of Music, Dance, Theatre, and Musical Theatre.   Her office is responsible for the School’s efforts in undergraduate and graduate recruiting, admissions, auditions, and orientation for students within the School. 

Dean Strozeski Hoffman is chair of a University-wide Admissions Officer group which seeks to share best practices and nurture collaboration across campus.  She has also been a leader in integrating technology to enable strong partnerships for the School of Music, Theatre & Dance with campus offices such as the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Office of Financial Aid.  Nationally, she is past-chair of ICCAM, the Independent Consortium on College Admissions in Music. 

Originally from Wisconsin, Dean Strozeski Hoffman earned her bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.  In 1983, she came to Ann Arbor as a graduate student in Musicology.  Following her graduate studies, she began working for the School of Music, Theatre & Dance and spent her first summer of U of M employment assisting Professor Donald Sinta in the Interlochen All-State Program.  She advanced through the ranks of staff positions, earning her current title in 2004, and has served the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance for 25 years.
