APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Prerequisites

Applicants to all Master of Music (M.M.) and Specialist in Music (S.M.) degrees must complete and submit the graduate application. Any person who has not yet completed the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree (with a major in music) at an accredited institution should apply as a transfer student at the undergraduate level.  All applicants to a specialist degree program must have completed a master’s degree in music at an accredited institution.

A check or money order in the amount of $75.00 in U.S. currency payable to the University of Michigan must accompany the PDF application. If you apply online, you may pay the application fee by credit card.  No application will be considered without this non-refundable fee.

The deadline to apply is December 1 (with the exception of the Music Education MM Summer Program, for which the deadline is March 1).  If you are applying for a merit-based financial aid award, you must submit the application for admission and all other required materials, postmarked by the deadline.
