What is the Stearns Collection of Musical Instruments?

The Stearns Collection of Musical Instruments is one of the largest assembly of musical instruments in North American universities. The collection holds over 2500 pieces of historical and contemporary instruments from all over the world.

Where is the Stearns Collection located?

The Stearns Collection is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the Margaret Dow Towsley wing at the south end of the Earl V. Moore Building of the School of Music, Theatre & Dance on Baits Drive in the University of Michigan North Campus area.  Please see Directions/Hours for more information.

Is the collection free?

Admission to the collection is free at all times.
