MICHIGAN YOUTH ENSEMBLES

Overview

The University of Michigan, School of Music, Theatre & Dance announces audition, rehearsal and performance dates for the

2009-2010 Michigan Youth Ensembles (MYE) Program.  Beginning its 59th season, this academic-year program provides a

dynamic learning atmosphere for talented, pre-college students to work with notable conductors, rehearse in a university

setting, and receive coaching from University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance faculty and students. 

In addition to the ensemble offerings, participants may also choose to enroll in a Musicianship Course that provides instruction in

music theory, analysis and aural skills.

MYE participants and their families are provided an opportunity to meet with a UM-School of Music, Theatre & Dance admissions facilitator.  Any questions you may have about admissions or what you should be doing in high school to prepare for college will be addressed. 

MYE SENIOR members are also given the opportunity to audition for merit award scholarships to the UM School of Music, Theatre

& Dance.  Application/Information is included in MYE acceptance packet.

Teacher's Note:  A Sunday, September 13, 2009 audition date has been set to fill vacancies and accommodate new students

enrolling in Michigan schools.  Applications must be received by September 7, 2009!
